Early registration

The study and examination regulations (SPO) of your degree program regulate the minimum requirements that must be met in order to register a thesis: Students must have successfully completed module examinations worth a certain number of credit points. These are

• 120 LP in the Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering,
• 120 LP in the Bachelor's degree program Mechanical Engineering International,
• 74 LP in the Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering.

However, the SPO allows for exceptions, which are decided by the examination board. In this case, the thesis is brought forward. 

If you would like to apply to bring forward your thesis, we require

• an informal application where you briefly explain the situation,
• a timetable,
• a certificate of the study and examination achievements completed so far,
• a confirmation from the institute where the thesis is to be completed.

You can submit the application in pdf format directly by e-mail from your KIT e-mail address to the MACH/ MEI Examination Board. It is not necessary to come to the office hours.
