Since the winter semester 2012/2013, MIT deans of studies, advisory offices and committees of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and the Department of Mechanical Engineering have been working together successfully in the consecutive degree program Mechatronics and Information Technology and jointly supervise over 1,000 MIT students.
The focus of the degree program is on the fusion of the fields of electrical engineering and electronics, mechanical engineering and mechanics, mathematics and information technology. In addition, great importance is attached to the development of management and communication skills. The aim of the degree program is to prepare for a career in research or development. You will be able to perform your job competently at various levels, including as a team and project leader.
The Bachelor's degree program in Mechatronics and Information Technology is designed for a standard period of study of six semesters. After completing all the necessary coursework, students are awarded the title "Bachelor of Science" (B.Sc.).
The course is designed to be consecutive, i.e. the Bachelor's course lays the foundations for the subsequent Master's degree program in Mechatronics and Information Technology.
