Exam registration for PhD students and incoming students

PhD students

The choice of lectures to be taken by you is made in consultation with your supervisor. Upon request, InSL will provide you with the form "Approval of Examination According to Doctoral Regulations PO2017". Then you have to fill out the form, have it signed by your supervisor and send it back to InSL by email.

After that, application forms for the exams will be created by InSL and sent to you. With these forms you have to register for the examinations at the responsible institutes. Please note the registration deadlines.

After you have taken the exams, the exam results will be forwarded by the institutes to InSL. A proficiency crtificate will be is issued and sent to the „Promotionssekretariat“ (doctoral office)

Incoming students

Please note the procedure for the following types of courses:

Courses (bricks) included in the Module Handbook for temporary students

This courses you can insert into your virtual record (Studienablaufplan) yourself and then register for the examinations online. Please note the registration deadlines.

Courses (bricks) that are not included in your Module Handbook but offered by the KIT-Department of Mechanical Engineering

Please write an email to InSL with the names and brick numbers of the relevant courses. This bricks will be entered into your virtual record. After this step, you can register for the exams online on your own. Please note the registration deadlines.

Courses (bricks) that are not included in your Module Handbook and offered by other departments

For this courses (bricks) you have to use the form "Approval of Participation in the extraordinary examination" (one form per course). The "Approval of Participation in the extraordinary examination" has to be signed be signed by the lecturer. Send the completed forms to InSL by e-mail. The bricks will be added into your virtual record (Studienablaufplan) and you can then register for the exams online. Please note the registration deadline.

Language courses

For the language courses, please register directly with the„Sprachenzentrum“. As soon as your language course will be inserted in the „Not assigned grades“, please write an email to InSL. Then it will be included with your result into your virtual record (Studienablaufplan).
