Deadline Extension: Theses
The study and examination regulations (SPO) for your degree program specify the maximum time you have to complete your thesis. This is
- 3 months for the Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering,
- 3 months for the Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering International,
- 6 months for the Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering.
However, if the student has a valid reason, the examination board can extend the maximum completion period at the student's request.
The processing time can be extended by the following periods:
- 1 month in the Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering,
- 1 month in the Bachelor's degree program Mechanical Engineering International,
- 3 months for the Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering.
If you would like to apply for an extension of the processing time for your thesis, we require the following documents:
- an informal application with a short justification, signature and signature of the supervisor/professor,
- written evidence of the valid reasons,
- if your degree program is managed in HISPOS: Confirmation of registration of your thesis.
An information sheet from the student council will provide you with further assistance in preparing the application.
You can submit the application in pdf format directly by e-mail from your KIT e-mail address to the MACH/ MEI Examination Committee. Usually it is not necessary to come to the office hours.
