Withdrawal or cancelation

As specified in the study and examination regulations (German: SPO) of your degree program, the topic of the thesis can only be returned once and only within the first month of the completion period.

In exceptional cases, the Examination Board may allow the topic to be returned after this period. This is the case if the student has a valid reason for which he/she is not responsible, for example a long-term illness that makes it impossible for the student to complete the thesis.

If you would like to submit an application to return the topic of your thesis, we require the following documents:

• an informal request where you briefly explain the situation, your signature and the signature of the supervisor/professor,
• written evidence of the valid reasons,
• if your degree program is managed in HISPOS: Confirmation of registration of your thesis.
